The tombstone of Adam Smith was built beautifully of stone. Consisting of the date of his birth and death, it was embellished by engraving some stunning design.

Mausoleum of Sir William Fettes is situated at Canongate Kirkyard. It’s also a great example of beautiful stone crafting. It looks like a small room consisting of several windows.

On 17th July 1790, Adam Smith passed away in the northern wing of Panmure House in Edinburgh. He had been suffering from a painful illness until his death. Finally, Canongate Kirkyard became his resting place for good.
